My name is Hugo Cornellier, I'm 20 years old and live in Montreal. I am currently studying at Concordia University in Computer Science & Math. I was born in London, England, and moved around Europe before moving to Montreal in 2006.
In 2008, I saw a video on YouTube by Noah Kalina which would inspire me to start the daily selfie project.
After getting many questions related to my project, I've decided to write up an F.A.Q. below:
F.A.Q. When did you start? It all began when I was 12 years old, in early 2008. I saw Noah Kalina's similar project on YouTube and was inspired to create my own.
What were your inspirations to start? When I was 12, my dad showed me his camera with timelapse capabilities and a few timelapses he had made. I started researching timelapse videos in 2008 at age 12, and found Noah Kalina's video. I noticed that nobody had done anything similar showing the aging process of a teenager, so I decided to go for it.
Has it really been a picture every single day? While I've managed to take the picture nearly every single day, there has been a few days when I have forgotten or have been incapable of taking a picture.
Are you still taking the pictures, or is the project over? I still take the pictures every single day! I took one today and will take one tomorrow, and keep taking them until I am physically unable to continue. I would love to continue the project on until my old age and have a timelapse video documenting my entire life!
When's the next video coming out? I just posted a new video! I usually post them every Summer & sometimes in September.
